Dr. Scott Turner is a neurology nurse practitioner at Children’s Hospital of Alabama and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine. He co-directs the headache program at Children's of Alabama and has over 20 years of advanced practice experience in pediatric neurology. He earned his BS in Biology from Trenton State (College of New Jersey), his BSN and MSN from Emory University, and doctor of nursing practice from the University of Colorado. His scholarship focuses on the measurement and reduction of migraine-related disability in children and adolescents. He led the AHS task force that published the Pediatric Migraine Action Plan, co-led the development of the First Contact in Primary Care-Pediatrics slide deck and was AHS' Leadership Education in Advocacy Development fellow from 2023-2025. He holds the Golden Apple Advocacy Award from Migraine at School and serves as treasurer for the Alliance for Headache Disorders Adovacy.
