Dr. Robert Gibler is a pediatric pain psychologist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Dr. Gibler completed his PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Cincinnati, followed by a residency in Behavioral Medicine and T32 postdoctoral fellowship in Child Behavior & Nutrition Research at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Gibler conducts multidisciplinary research examining non-medicine interventions for chronic pain in children and adolescents, and he has a particular interest in adapting these interventions for youth with co-occurring medical conditions such as obesity. Clinically, Dr. Gibler provides outpatient cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) services for youth with chronic pain and headache disorders including chronic migraine and new daily persistent headache. He also serves as an Associate Editor for Headache, the journal of the American Headache Society, and serves as a lead editor for plain language summaries submitted for accepted manuscripts.
